Mind is a roller coaster and it goes through a lot of ups and downs throughout our entire life. A person who has their sanity checked can keep their mind in a relaxed state. Every individual can learn how to control their mind and act bravely in all the tough situations.
Time and again, mind gets occupied with so many thoughts that it becomes difficult to get rid of these thoughts. So, when you are in a early stage of meditation it is so difficult to focus and concentrate, but it gradually lowers down once you start practicing it daily.
Relaxation is the key to achieve great things in your life. Whenever you find yourself in great amount of stress which is either due to work or family, start thinking on how you can make your life better without any interference of outside world. Engage yourself in some kind of activity which makes you happy. Think about the persons who live in a group in ashrams or temples and devoted their life to god and die in the end. Life should be purposeful and meaningful. This is what every individual should look for, to really live a life without hatred and stress.
Often we use meditation as a key to relaxation, however, very few people are only able to focus and meditate. Here are some keys on how to start meditation and prolong it throughout your life.
1) Sit cross legged with your back straight. Close your eyes and start chanting small mantras like 'Om'. Different religions have different chanting mantras.
2) Another way to meditate is start feeling your own physical body. For example, how blood is flowing throughout the body from tip of the toe to your heart. Concentrate on each little things your arms, your fingers, stomach. Feel it and realize how important your body is, to you.
3) Think of a way that someone from outside is pouring some light into your mind and that light is bestowed on your whole body.
4) Thoughts will always try to come continuously, but you need to bring back your thoughts to your own breathing technique. Breathing technique is something which you need to practice slowly. Start with small breaths and feel your breathing in and out.
5) Start meditation with 5 minutes of time. Then try for 10 mins and slowly you can stretch up from 30 mins to 1 hour.
6) Good amount of 7-8 hours of sleep.
7) Healthy food habits is essential for both mind and body.
8) Meditation not only just relaxes your brain muscles, it also helps you to tackle tough situations.
Meditation is linked with Spirituality but it is not itself Spirituality. Your behavior, your choices of decision, which is right or wrong makes you a person either good or bad, how you treat to others and respect them. These things are part of being a "good being" and this is spirituality.
So, first take yourself to a stage where you can love yourself and make yourself ready for all the situations. Live your life and spread love to others instead of hatred. The more greater your heart will become the more spiritual you will become in real sense.
